San Francisco Treat
Sorry it's been awhile since my last post...My computer got a virus, so I am currently on the third floor of the Journalism building.
So, the Terps are officially going to San Francisco for the Emerald Bowl, as expected. They are playing Oregon State, which was also expected. As for my ACC Teams and their bowl selections, I'm pretty happy with those.
The Terps don't know much about OSU yet, and they aren't expected to. That comes after exam week. These next four days of practice is more of them improving as a team than preparing for the Beavers. Coach Friedgen did say that all of the tape is broken down and ready to go. They are a good running team and they remind him of Wake Forest (to whom the Terps have lost their last two games). I plan on studying the Beavers more once I'm done with Final Exams--I wish I could now, it more fun.
What I know now is that the team is good--they won 10 games last year and beat Cal when they were #2 this year. Andrew Crummey put it well when he said that it will be exciting to see how the Pac-10 stacks up with the ACC.
Speaking of the players, Fridge said that they were really excited to go to San Francisco, and it was their first choice. A lot of the guys I talked to, like I said in the last post, said they don't care because a bowl is a bowl. (Fridge echoed this when he said that he didn't think this was a must win game because only the National Championship is a must-win bowl game.)
